Sseko Women's Wages

We LOVE this question! Recently, Sseko joined the Lowest Wage Challenge and reported that  Sseko pays our lowest-paid employees 55% above what is considered a living wage in Uganda. In US standards, that would be equivalent to a US company paying their lowest earner 55% above what is considered a living wage!

WHAT IS A LIVING WAGE?
A living wage is defined as: The adequate income standard needed to cover the living costs of an individual or family. Living wages are published as a range with the lower bound of 25th percentile and upper bound of the 50th percentile of calculated living wages based on the data from the WageIndicator Cost of Living Survey.
